Certification & Scholarships
South Dakota Certified Florist Program
Applications Due January 1st
The SDCF certification program was established in 1997. In order to become a certified florist one must successfully complete the written and practical application test administered by the education committee of the association. When you apply to test for the program you have made a commitment to achieve individual excellence within the floral industry. Upon successfully passing this examination you will be presented with a certificate of certification and will join a select group of professionals who are recognized as South Dakota Certified Florists.
SDFA offers a certification program for interested florists. The florist pays for an educational packet that provides them with all the information to study for the test. The test is a two part test consisting of a written examination and a practical examination. Those who meet the requirements of the test will be recognized at the annual induction ceremony at convention. The certification program increases professionalism in the industry, and builds the confidence and self esteem of the certified florist. Florists that meet the requirements are able to use the initials, SDCF on all professional correspondence.
